Made in France is a committed, almost militant act, as it could be attractive and easy to relocate our production to maximize our margins.
However, at Kidur, we have chosen to maintain our historical expertise in the original factory, here in Courlay. From design and patternmaking to fabric cutting, preparing the collars and cuffs, to garment assembly and finishing, nearly 30 people are involved in the production of a Kidur garment.
MADE IN FRANCE : THE RARELY CONTROLLED DECLARATIVE NOTICE.
Its specifications are complex and combine French and European customs standards. However, its application leaves room for items manufactured outside France that undergo some processing within our territory.
At Kidur, we believe that this label is not demanding enough and we voluntarily apply each year to obtain the Origine France Garantie label for our entire collection.
Twice a year, an auditor from Bureau Veritas inspects our manufacturing process and measures the percentage of added value generated in France. During this audit, everything is checked, including the origin of raw materials and supplies, as well as the absence of subcontracting in our case, since all Kidur products are manufactured in-house.
The audit then determines an OFG rate that corresponds to the value of the item produced in France. To obtain the label, at least 50% of the cost price of our items—that is, the cost of our manufacturing plus the cost of materials and supplies—must be made in France.
