Our factory is nestled in a historic location in the heart of the Deux-Sèvres countryside. Since 1927, the artisan seamstresses of this village, La Plainelière de Courlay, have been keeping the region's expertise and heritage alive.
These artisans were, from the very beginning, renowned for making “ clothes that last ”. This expression, which became a trademark, was registered in 1935. Kidur is thus the trademark of our factory. For almost 100 years, we have been imagining and designing and we manufacture in France, durable and functional items.
This ambition has never left us and in 2022, Kidur is still manufactured by our artisans on its birthplace and nowhere else.
Since 2018, our wardrobe has been enriched with pieces crafted with the same passion for craftsmanship and quality work. In 2021, we focused on fabrics woven or knitted by our French partners.
During our tours, the Kidur team met with you to discuss the brand's manufacturing processes. Drawing on this experience and always driven by the same ambitions, the Kidur team envisioned the future of our products.
During this new year, we will complete our wardrobe by using all of the manufacturer's expertise : cutting and assembly of knitwear, making of canvas and twill, leather goods.
The collection will expand, diversifying with accessories and essential pieces. Our tradition of menswear will expand to include a few pieces tailored for women. These new items will, of course, be made here in Courlay.
During 2021, many of you joined the Kidur community, and your enthusiasm for our products inspires us to go further. Your commitment through the acquisition of our products directly contributes to maintaining employment and the expertise of our company. In December 2021, 11 in-house trained artisan seamstresses joined the factory's workforce.
At Kidur, we are convinced that "made in France" should not be a slogan or a fad. It is a common-sense approach that has mobilized us for nearly 100 years around a simple project: making beautiful clothes in France .
Thanks to you, this healthy and sustainable project can grow here in La Plainelière. The factory's 80 employees thank you and wish you a wonderful 2022.
