Press release

Kidur at the Elysée

Courlay, June 15, 2023.

Nestled in the heart of the Deux-Sèvres countryside, the Kidur clothing manufacturer has been developing and designing durable, wear-resistant clothing since 1935.

In 2018, a team of diehards decided to restart the machine. Kidur designed and developed a collection inspired by its archives, period models, stories, and memories of former seamstresses. These garments, all made in a measured production process at the historic site of La Plainelière de Courlay, offer a reasonable alternative to the consumption of disposable clothing. The materials used are mainly woven or knitted in France from recycled or organic fibers.

The Kidur Manufacture's 41 Loutre Jacket is the winner of the Grande Exposition du Made en France. It will represent the Deux-Sèvres department at the Élysée Palace on July 1st and 2nd, 2023.

The Made in France Rendez-Vous.

The Grande Exposition du Fait en France (Made in France) showcases companies, artisans, producers, and manufacturers fully committed to French manufacturing. 125 products made in France and sourced from all departments and territories of mainland France and overseas will be on display at the Élysée Palace. These highly varied products illustrate the great wealth of French expertise. Everyday objects, local specialties, industrial tools, and iconic innovations all come from companies of all sizes and sectors.

A Kidur jacket made in the historic factory in Courlay is the winner and will be exhibited at the Élysée Palace on July 1 and 2.

Highlighting the region's know-how

At this event, sponsored by President Emmanuel Macron, 125 companies from across France will showcase their French-made products to the public and the press. This year, a particular emphasis has been placed on environmentally friendly and socially responsible production processes that contribute to maintaining regional expertise and fostering local economic development. Each visitor will find one or two products that represent their region's unique region.

Kidur represents the desire of a French clothing company to combine traditional know-how and historical heritage with a modern organization. Based on these original values, the company strives every day to create and distribute a range of well-designed, high-quality clothing. Kidur offers more than just a wardrobe; it's a state of mind, the desire to take the time to create long-lasting clothing in France.
