Based since its creation in La Plainelière de Courlay, Kidur is closely linked to its home region of Deux-Sèvres, and more generally to the Bordeaux area.
Kidur, a story of encounter
During the filming of Comme son nom l'indique, we met Clément Brouzes. A native of Bordeaux with a passion for mechanics, he preserves the soul of the Motobloc factory. Committed to local know-how and manufacturing, we're delighted to accompany him on the journey of 120 years of human and mechanical history.
An attachment to Bordeaux
Known above all for its vineyards and heritage, Bordeaux was also an automobile production hub in the 1930s.
Société Anonyme des Automobiles Motobloc was founded in 1902 as a manufacturer of cars, boats, motorcycles, cyclos and other complex objects. Based in the Bordeaux Bastide district, the company's vehicles were branded from the outset with the three-crescent logo.
Today, this logo is still the city's emblem, and is better known as the "Chiffre" of Bordeaux. The three crescents represent the meandering Garonne River. Through its logo, Motobloc asserts its attachment to its region and to the city of Bordeaux.
A human and mechanical story
At the origin of the engine block principle, it was this know-how that propelled motobloc's reputation. This innovation transformed the entire automotive sector. Still present on today's cars, the motobloc unites the engine, clutch and gearbox in a single housing.
With over 1,500 employees in the 50s, motobloc's workers worked on the quality and technological innovations of its various models. The reliability of their products was indisputable, as demonstrated by their participation in various Grand Prix and Rally events.
Automobile production remained local and small-scale, before falling into oblivion in 1961.
The renaissance
His passion began when Clément Brouzes acquired a Motobloc S4, one of the last models produced by the factory. A car restoration enthusiast, he spent several months restoring the vehicle.
It was while researching the history of the Bordeaux brand that he fell under the spell of this sleeping beauty. Clément, an enthusiast for history and mechanics, preserves and animates the brand's heritage by renovating classic cars and collecting all historical elements.
Kidur x Motobloc
The Kidur x Motobloc jacket is the result of Kidur's first collaboration. It was launched in Bordeaux to celebrate Motobloc's 120th anniversary. Together, from a vintage Kidur piece from the 50's, we have created a unique piece, in the image of our two universes: authentic, elegant and functional.
Woven and crafted in France from cotton denim, the Kidur x Motobloc jacket is designed to be timeless and unisex. Produced as a special 120th anniversary edition, the Kidur x Motobloc jacket is embroidered and branded in the factory colors.
